Dateward (“we”, “the site”) is a free countdown and date-calculator website. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site. This page explains what we handle, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Counts you run. Date calculations happen in your browser or as part of pages we prepare in advance. We do not store the dates or numbers you calculate.
• Country preference. The country you pick for holiday data is stored in your browser (localStorage) only. It is not sent to us.
• Usage data. We use Vercel Analytics to count page views in aggregate. It does not use cookies or collect personal data that identifies you.

Cookies

The site itself runs without cookies. Third parties we work with — described below — may set cookies or use similar technologies when you visit. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies through the consent banner shown on your first visit, and change your choice at any time by clearing the site’s data in your browser.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We may display advertising on the site to keep it free. Our ad partner is Google, via Google AdSense.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

Holiday data

Public holiday data comes from Nager.Date. When the site fetches holiday data for the country you selected, your request goes to that service under its own privacy terms. We do not send it any information about you beyond the country code needed to get the calendar.

Children

The site is a general-audience calendar tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, or to object to processing. Because we do not maintain user accounts or store personal data, most such requests are handled simply by clearing your browser data.
