About Dateward

Dateward is a free countdown and date-calculator site. It answers two questions quickly and correctly: how many days until something, and what date falls a given number of days from today.

Why we built it

Searching for “how many days until Christmas” usually leads through slow pages full of ads before the number. We wanted the opposite: the number first, big and clear, with the working shown so you can trust it. Every countdown on the site is computed from real calendar dates at page-load time — never hardcoded, never guessed.

How the data works

• Countdowns are calculated with calendar math in your own timezone, so the number you see is the number for your today.
• Public holidays come from the Nager.Date open holiday API, filtered to the country you choose.
• Guides in the blog are written by us and explain the calendar questions behind the searches — leap years, ISO weeks, business days and the like.

Who runs it

Dateward is built and maintained by an independent developer. It is funded by advertising; see our privacy policy for how that works and what data is involved.
